
The new Scientists & Engineers-in-the-Classroom program will be launched in Calgary and Edmonton in September 2010. At a future date, the program will be expanded to other areas. The program is a merger of APEGGA and Alberta Science Literacy Association (ASLA) programs. For more details about the merger see:

Practicing members and university students enrolled in the faculties of engineering, geology and geophysics can now participate as a volunteer in the Scientists & Engineers-in-the-Classroom program and/or the APEGGA Outreach program. As a volunteer in either program or both programs, you will:
have fun and rewarding experiences
develop speaking and presentations skills
meet and work with practicing members and university student members
earn credits for the continuing professional development program (a maximum of 10 professional development hours may be claimed per year)
earn credit toward APEGGA volunteer service awards
