HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Linda Van Gastel, P.Eng.
The Council may confer Honorary Life Membership in APEGGA
upon any professional
member who has rendered eminent service to the Association.
Ms. Linda Van Gastel, P.Eng., has served APEGGA for 14 years, including seven years on Council, and is currently the outgoing President. Ms. Van Gastel is a native Calgarian. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 1967 with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, and added an M.Sc. in 1972.
Ms. Van Gastel began her career with Western Research and Development working primarily on computer applications that supported the company’s environmental impact mitigation business. In 1976, she joined PanCanadian Petroleum Limited (now EnCana) and progressed through working level assignments in engineering computer applications and reservoir engineering; managerial positions in Reservoir, Production and Operations Engineering; and executive appointments in Marketing and Engineering. Ms. Van Gastel is now retired from EnCana, but she remains active with her commitments to APEGGA, and as a Board Member of the Alberta Science and Research Authority and the Alberta Water Council.
She is married to Arnold and has two
children and two grandchildren.
