President
Invites you to
Joint Town Hall Meeting
February 5, 2007
Fellow professionals, as the President of your elected
Council, I would like to extend an invitation to attend a joint Town Hall Meeting
with your workplace colleagues who are Members of APEGGA or ASET. The live event takes place
7 p.m. Tuesday night, February 6, in Edmonton and will be available as an interactive
videoconference in Calgary, Red Deer, Fort McMurray, Lethbridge, Grande Prairie,
Medicine Hat, Lloydminster, Cold Lake and Peace River. You can also participate
via a webcast.
The topic of discussion is the new regulatory model that will see ASET become
a regulator under The Engineering, Geological and Geophysical Professions
Act. Your active participation in this discussion will help your Council
to better understand your perspective on the proposed new regulatory model.
A Memorandum of Understanding was unanimously approved
by both our Council and by ASET’s so that the MOU could go forward to Members
of each Association for discussion. The MOU is available for your review at http://www.apegga.ca/ASET/ASET-APEGGA-MOU.pdf
Also available is a discussion paper at http://www.apegga.org/aset/APEGGA-ASETDiscussion.pdf
Please plan to attend the Joint Town Hall Meeting. You can register to attend
at a location near you at https://trustworthy.secure-orders.net/schuld/applications/TownHall/inc_registrationmanager.asp
Or, register to participate online via a webcast at http://events.streamlogics.net/apegga/feb06-07/
I hope to see you there and to receive your questions and comments either
in person, by videoconference or online.
Dave Chalcroft, P.Eng.
