APEGGA Environment Committee

Climate Change Debate

In February 2008, APEGGA released the results of a membership survey on climate change issues. The survey asked key questions about member’s personal and professional views, sources of knowledge and views regarding the role of government and APEGGA in the climate change debate.

APEGGA's Environment Committee intends to foster the debate, by moving it from the Readers’ Forum section in The PEGG to the Climate Change sub-section in the Environment section on the APEGGA website, where members may present more detailed discussions and arguments on technical issues.

2009 APEGGA Teacher Awards
Nominate a Science/Math Teacher Who Inspires Learning

Last year members did a great job of promoting and participating in teacher nominations and we’d really like to see a repeat of that in 2009.

The APEGGA Teacher Awards recognize science and math teachers whose superior teaching skills have made math or science fun and inspired students to succeed academically.

Award recipients receive an award and recognition, and the school receives $2,000 to further science and math education.

A total of 14 Alberta teachers will be selected as award recipients

Circulate the link below to parents at your workplace and the parent advisory committee at your child’s school, and talk to your children about initiating a nomination.
