Starting Building Projects - Draft Guideline
A steering committee representing the Canadian Construction Association, Engineers Canada, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the BC Building Projects Committee has developed a draft guideline on starting building projects. The committee is looking for evaluations and comments on the draft document.
The guideline explains management practices for all lead roles during the project business planning and project development stages. The scope spans from the original decision to evaluate a project concept or implement a capital plan to readiness for construction contract documentation to be started.
Starting Building Projects is intended to enable integration among the lead roles on building projects, especially in the early stages. It expresses general principles, for which a broad basis of consensus is being tested by the review and comment process. It
recognizes and supports the autonomy of each building industry association to develop and communicate the details of good practice to its members and others. This autonomy covers applications, terminology, policies, and exceptions that relate to good practice.
The authors have also prepared a questionnaire concerning the document.
Please send your comments to the steering committee at buildingprojects@apeg.bc.ca.
Closing date for all comments is April 30, 2008. |
