Market Merger Proposal

Comment Period Opens for Market Merger Proposal

If the alphabet soup of acronyms and initials in their announcement is any indication, the B.C. and Alberta securities commissions have a complicated process ahead of them. Several amendments to do with a proposed merger of the Toronto, Montreal and London stock exchanges are in the commissions’ possession, because of their regulator roles in two exchanges related to the TMX Group – those would be TSX Venture and the Natural Gas Exchange Inc.

APEGGA members and others who want to file their comments on the matter should start by reading the securities commissions’ joint notice and request for comment. Deadline is June 29.

Photo Contest

Photo Entries Lost in Transit

Did you enter a photo in our PEG magazine photo contest and receive a notice that your email was undeliverable? If so, please try again – the glitch is now fixed. Send your photos to photocontest@apega.ca.

But first, please read or reread the rules

And Speaking of the Photo Contest

We’re planning to relaunch our contest in the fall as a joint online-and-print project. You’ll be able to upload you own entries and rate those of your APEGGA peers, suggest and decide themes, and discuss your mutual interest in photography. We’ll pull out the winners in time for each magazine edition and reset the contest.

Watch The PEG and the e-PEG for further information. And if you’d like to give us a few pointers and suggestions, send them to photocontest@apega.ca with the word COMMENT in the subject line.
