Norman Kwong made it official yesterday by signing the proclamation – amendments to the Engineering, Geological and Geophysical Professions Act have turned the vision of One Act, Two Associations into a reality. ASET is now a self-regulatory association. With APEGGA, it will jointly regulate a new category of ASET member called Professional Technologist. “This is great news for our two organizations and for those technologists qualified to step up to the new level of responsibility self-regulation has to offer,” said APEGGA Executive Director & Registrar Neil Windsor, P.Eng. “The biggest beneficiary, however, is the public, who we believe will be better protected through expanded self-regulation.” Read the entire story More Information Government of Alberta Information Bulletin PEGG Online Story e-PEGG Extra to all R.P.T.s Edmonton Nellie McClung Program Needs Science Fair Project Mentors Approximately 150 girls from grades 7, 8 and 9 in the Nellie McClung program at Avonmore School (7835 76th Ave.) are beginning to plan 90 projects that will be judged at the school’s science fair later in January. Top projects will go on to the spring Edmonton Regional Science Fair. Especially during the winter, providing houseplants with an adequate amount of light can be difficult to do. You can’t expose the houseplant to the harshness of the cold weather for the sake of natural light, but even with a good window, a house may be too shaded by outside trees or overhangs to provide adequate light.
