SHAD Valley Deadline for Applications
Bright High Schoolers in Your Midst?
Smart, well-rounded high school students are needed for summer residency placements through the renowned Shad Valley program. Students completing Grade 10, 11 or 12 will end up at participating Canadian universities from June 28 to July 24 where they’ll be immersed in science, technology, entrepreneurship and leadership. Two intake deadlines approach.

Towards Safer Alberta Roads
David Chalcroft, P.Eng., a past president of APEGGA, continues to push for safety improvements on Alberta roads. One program he’s called for is a mandatory ignition interlock system for drivers convicted of impaired driving or refusing a Breathalyzer. The program is now in place, and you can read about it and other advancements on the traffic front in the newsletter of the Office of Traffic Safety.

Ninth Annual U of A Engineering Students’ Society Career Fair
Jan. 29 and 30.
This fair connects U of A engineering students with engineering job opportunities.
Booths have the potential to reach a large portion of the 3800 undergraduate and 700 graduate engineering students on campus. The fair takes place at the Engineering Teaching and Learning Complex in the heart of the engineering sector of campus.
