Calling all Members and Permit Holders

We are looking for corporate teams to participate in a mystery corporate challenge to help us kickoff National Engineering & Geoscience Week. We have had great fun and participation from companies in past and look forward to another great event.

11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Location: Downtown Calgary (exact location to be announced in the New Year)

  • Each organization is asked to send a five member team.

  • The challenge will be a mystery and will test teams on their innovative and creative abilities, their teamwork, quick thinking, and building talents.

  • Teams are welcome to bring their own cheering teams and mascots.

  • Awards and gifts will be giving to all registered teams.

APEGGA wishes to thank Bantrel, winners of the 2006 corporate challenge, for providing the venue for this year’s kickoff.

CALGARY BRANCH LUNCHEON

The Horizon Oil Sands Project

Guest Speaker:  Phil Keele, P. Eng., Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.

Canadian Natural’s Horizon Oil Sands Project is one of the largest oil developments in the world today.  Phase 1 of the project is set to go into production at a rate of 110,000 bpd of light sweet synthetic crude oil in the latter part of 2008.  Plans to increase this production to 232,000 bpd by late 2011 are currently being evaluated.

Mr. Keele will provide a detailed update of the project since construction began in early 2005.  He will also discuss the strategies that have been used to successfully execute this world class project.

To ensure adequate seating, please pre-register with the Calgary APEGGA Office at 262-7714 prior to Friday, January 12, 2007. Calgary Branch accepts Visa, MasterCard, or American Express for tickets sold prior to the day of the event.
