This presentation will provide an introduction to the Canadian Military Engineers (CME), focusing on Combat Engineer operations in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan from February to October, 2008.  Learn where Combat Engineers fit into the CME as well as the role and organization of the Combat Engineers that deployed to Afghanistan between February and October, 2008.

Several engineering projects will be discussed with a focus on the challenges that leadership had to overcome in order to support combat operations. The discussion will centre on ethics, the environment, structural design, building codes, material and equipment limitations as well as project and risk management.

Gain an understanding of the role, capabilities and accomplishments of the Combat Engineers in Afghanistan and get an inside look at the diverse and challenging world of the CME.
