RED
DEER REGIONAL HOSPITAL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Welcome to the new Red Deer Regional Hospital!
The 4-year, two-phased Red Deer Regional Hospital expansion
project was completed in the fall of 2005. This $95.8 million project included a 13,350 m3 expansion
of the south complex, a 1300 m3 cancer center, renovation of the renal dialysis,
endoscopy, paediatric and operating units, as well as the cardiology/respiratory
unit and laboratory. The project was built on-budget and on-schedule.
Richard Wilson, P.Eng. will take us through the process
of designing and constructing this large institutional building. Insights will
be shared on milestones and events which took place during the construction of
this project, as well as a description of some of the elements of success. This
presentation will be of interest specifically to those members involved in civil
engineering and project engineering, and generally to those interested in the
development of this community.
