The biggest operating cost for Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) thermal
oil recovery is the fuel bill. So what can we do, and why? A complete
solution requires a close look at energy consumption for the entire SAGD heat
cycle from reservoir pore to pipeline and must include an operations perspective
during design.
This talk examines the entire system and offers ways to improve the heat recovery
and reduce costs for new and old SAGD plants.
The talk topics:
- Rethinking the glycol system
- Heat up the stacks
- Steam Generators with Cogeneration
- Reducing losses at the pad
- Package Boilers
