The issuing of Permits to Practice to practicing companies is an important element of APEGGA’s obligation to regulate the professions.  A seminar, where members can discuss these obligations, appears to be the most effective way to clarify the roles.  To this end, APEGGA introduced the mandatory Permit to Practice Seminar in September of 2003.

This free seminar clearly explains the duties of the Chief Operating Officers and Responsible Members with respect to the APEGGA Permit, and the role that APEGGA plays in regulating the professions of Engineering, Geology and Geophysics.  Further, the topic of Risk and Loss Management as it pertains to Professional Practice is explored.

Attendance to the seminar is mandatory for everyone who is named as a Responsible Member on an APEGGA Permit at least once every five years.  The Fort McMurray Branch has arranged to bring this opportunity for you to attend the seminar without incurring travel costs or other expenses.  If you are a Responsible Member for an APEGGA Permit, expect to be, or just interested in the regulation of the corporate practice of engineering, geology, and geophysics, you are encouraged to attend.
