Peace Region Science Olympics
Call for Volunteers

Date:    Saturday, March 14, 2009
Time:   12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location:       Kateri Mission School

Ten teams of junior and senior high students are ready to compete in the seventh annual APEGGA Science Olympics – Peace Country. We are requesting judges and volunteers to help at the registration table and with the hands-on activity tables.
Judges Commitment: 1-hour time slots
Event Time: 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Volunteer briefing: 11:30 a.m.
Description: Assist Event Managers to facilitate the six mystery events.
Science Activity Tables Commitment: 1-hour time slots
Time: 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Volunteer briefing: 11:30 a.m.
Description: During the day there will be a variety of hands-on science activity tables for participants and spectators. The activities will be similar to those at the elementary Science Night.
Registration Commitment: 1-hour time slots
Time: 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Volunteer briefing: 11:30 a.m.
Description:  Volunteers will register event volunteers and competing teams as they arrive for Science Olympics. Duties include set up, checking off names, handing out event bags, T-shirts, etc.  Registration staff will also distribute programs to guests. Volunteers will also pack up the table when the event ends.
