Correction: Municipality of Wood Buffalo Regional Science Fair

Date: Friday April 16, 2010
Time: 2:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m.
Location: Keyano College’s Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre
Cost: No charge

Urgent call for members to volunteer and participate as judges at the annual Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Science Fair.

Judges should contact Andrew Taylor (WBYSF President) directly by email and include a few sentences briefly describing their science background; He will then enter you into their system and send you a password to register. His email address is andrew.taylor@keyano.ca.

Once you have received your password you will then have an account with them. You may then go to the website http://www.wbrsf.ca and click on the purple button titled "Volunteers and Judges"; click on the green button "WBRSF Online Registration", and then just follow the online instructions. Judges may continue to register online until April 14th.

The Regional Science Fair will be for children in grades seven to twelve to promote an interest in sciences and the geosciences. Each project will be judged by three judges and the primary goal is to foster curiosity and encourage all students to consider careers in science.

Science Olympics 2010

Date: Tuesday, April 27, 2010
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: Oil Sands Discovery Centre

Call for members to volunteer and participate as judges at the annual Science Olympics competition. There will be pizza and drinks provided to all volunteers prior to the set-up of the event.

The Science Olympics will be for children in grades seven and eight to promote an interest in sciences and the geosciences. Each project will be judged by three judges and the primary goal is to foster curiosity and encourage all students to consider careers in science.
