Yellowhead Members

The Yellowhead Branch of APEGGA has been without a Chairperson for about a year. Without this key position, our Branch activities have diminished along with our voice and presence in APEGGA activities.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position include:

• set and attend Branch meetings
• act as the principle liaison between APEGGA Executive and the Branch
• ensure the Branch operates according to the terms of the Branch and Budget manuals.

SCIENCE FESTIVAL

The Yellowhead Branch of APEGGA is participating in a Festival of Science on October 14 in Hinton and Edson. The Festival is being coordinated the Science Alberta Foundation, and includes a presentation by the MYTHBUSTERS (Grant Imahara and Kari Byron), a student breakfast, a "Science in the Movies" night, and a Tradeshow. The purpose of the Festival is to get students excited about science and explore possible career in science fields. For more information, log onto www.festivalofscience.ca.

The Yellowhead Branch of APEGGA plans to participate in the Tradeshows in Hinton and Edson. Volunteers are needed to assist with pre-event organization and to staff a booth. Pre-event organization will take about
two hours. Booth hours on October 14 are from 9am to 4pm and shifts will be about two hours.
