The Epcor Tower: Building Office Towers in Edmonton – every 20 years
The new Epcor Tower is well under way into its development. This project, in excess of $300M,
represents the first new high rise office tower to be constructed in 20 years in Edmonton and is
scheduled to be completed in late 2011.
Bob Walker of Ledcor Construction Limited, the project construction managers, will provide an
insight into the decade-long development process required prior to commencement of
construction. Hear about some of the more interesting design and construction opportunities
that arose due to a major section of the proposed North LRT leg being required to be
constructed prior to the office tower.
Learn why it has taken two decades before Edmonton was able to realize its newest downtown
office tower. The presentation will also cover design, engineering and construction aspects of
this particular tower, making it one of the most unique structures in Canada.
