APEGGA President, Mr. Jim Smith, P.Eng., FEC, will discuss issues facing Albertans around sustainability, the economy and the current skilled labour shortage, and the potential and imperative for Alberta's Professional Engineers and Geoscientists to bring informed scientific perspective to issues of the day, whether local, provincial, national or international. President Smith and the APEGGA Lakeland Branch executive hope you will join us for a dialogue and exchange of perspectives.

Nominations are requested from members of the Vermilion River Branch of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) interested in serving on the local Branch Executive in the following positions:
Chair
Vice-Chair
Treasurer
Secretary
Outreach Coordinator
Members-at-Large (limited to 15 members)
The duties of the various positions are defined in the Branch Bylaws, which may be obtained from APEGGA's website www.apega.ca. Any member nominated for the position of Chair must have served on the Branch Executive for at least one year.
In the event of an election for any position, other than Members-at-Large, the candidates would be required to make a 2-3 minute presentation at the Branch AGM to inform the members of their candidacy.
Please email the nominations, with written consent from the nominee, to the Nominating Committee before March 1. Verbal nominations prior to the AGM will not be accepted. Nominees will be acknowledged by March 5.
Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the branch AGM. The nominee must be present at the AGM for accepting the nomination from the floor. Self-nominations are accepted and there is no need to be seconded.
