The Medicine Hat Branch of APEGGA is pleased to continue its on-going Professional Development Initiatives. For Spring 2010 we are proud to host the Alberta Low Impact Development Partnership in a Lunch and Learn session. Please come out and join your fellow professionals for a lunch, conversation and an opportunity to learn. With our soggy weather of late this is a most timely topic!

If you are working in or have an interest in controlling storm water runoff from municipal developments then this session is well worth your time and effort to attend. This will be of interest to Professional Engineers, Land Developers and their agents, Municipal Regulators, Parks Departments, Community Planners, Stormwater Operators and Regulators, Water Licensers. For those that are wondering what Low Impact Development is, here is a quote from the ALIDP website (www.alidp.org)

"Low impact development (LID) uses a variety of practical techniques to manage stormwater runoff close to its source, where rain falls. LID designs focus on implementing better site design practices and site-specific stormwater control options such as green roofs, stormwater capture and re-use, and landscape designs that increase the absorption and filtering of rainwater."

This session will help to fulfill the requirements under APEGGA's Continuing Professional Development Program! For registration to this event please contact John Bulmer, P. Eng. at johbul@medicinehat.ca, jsbulmer@shaw.ca or 403 878 6255. In order to provide our caterers with accurate numbers, please confirm your attendance no later than May 16, 2010.
