The APEGGA Fort McMurray Branch is pleased to host a Technical Seminar on November 8 at Syncrude Sports & Wellness Center. Space is limited, so it will be a first come first served basis.

Our first presenter, Mr. Andrew Read, is the Acting Director of the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Department of Energy, Carbon Capture and Storage Development, Energy Efficiency & Conservation Government of Alberta and he will be presenting the topic: Carbon Capture and Storage Development in Alberta.

Our second presenter, Mr. Tim Wiwchar P.Eng, is the Manager of Quest Integration/HO Ops Excellence at Shell Canada Energy and will be presenting the topic: QUEST Carbon Capture & Storage Project -Understanding the Operational Challenges.

This event could qualify for professional development hours.

2011 Fort McMurray Table Tennis Open

Location: Fort McMurray Composite High School – Small Gym, 9803 King Street
Cost: $10 per individual

The local APEGGA Branch and Fort McMurray Table Tennis Club (FMTTC) proudly present Table Tennis Open 2011 after three consecutive years of success in hosting the event. Everyone is invited: both engineering professionals and general public, from beginners to experts. If you are interested in just observing the tournament and networking, this event is for you too.

This is a single player event only, based on best of 3 games match on an 11-point scoring system. Play format will be decided depending on the number of participants. Prizes will be handed out to the finalists.

Registration: Deadline to register is November 25. Maximum entry of 32 players on first-come-first-serve basis. Registration accepted through club email.
