December 31st is fast approaching, and marks the end of the current personal tax year. Did you know that the combined federal and Alberta provincial tax credit for charitable gifts over $200 is 50 per cent? Assuming you pay income tax and have given a total of at least $200 to the APEGGA Education Foundation and/or any other eligible charity or charities, then a further gift of $100 would cost you only $50, and a gift of $1,000 would cost you only $500.  Note that charitable tax receipts can be carried forward for up to five years.
