The APEGGA Board of Examiners is looking for a Professional Engineer to fill the following position:
Electrical Engineering – Experience Examiner
The APEGGA Board of Examiners is a statutory committee created under the EGGP Act. The mandate of the Board of Examiners is to evaluate the qualifications of individuals for licensure in accordance with the legislated requirements under the EGGP Act and Regulations.
Applicants must:
Be licensed as a P.Eng. with APEGGA, and
Have a minimum of ten years of industry experience within the relevant discipline
The Board of Examiners meets 11 times per year, once each month except July. Meetings are normally one-half day each, however, there are extended meetings in June and December. There are six face-to-face meetings per year, alternating between Edmonton and Calgary, and five meetings per year conducted by videoconference from APEGGA’s Edmonton and Calgary offices. Authorized travel expenses will be reimbursed. In addition, sub-committee meetings may be called from time to time. Candidates should be prepared to commit up to two days per month on Board business.
The duties and expectations of Board of Examiner members are:
Serve a three-year term
Attend Board meetings regularly
Participate in sub-committee meetings as required
Review individual application files between Board meetings
Review agenda materials in preparation for monthly Board meetings
Be prepared to commit up to two days per month on Board activities
