Sight Lines Report Wins Marketing Award

APEGGA’s 2006 Annual Report, Sight Lines, has won an award from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.

Winning one of the MarCom 2007 Platinum awards is quite a feat. Some 5,000 entries are received annually and only 18 per cent of them reach the platinum level.

Entries are judged on a point system rather than against other entries. Sight Lines earned between 90 and 100 possible points, which places it in the highest level of ranking.

The Association is in good company. Also among the nods at the top are IBM, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Texas A&M University.

MarCom Awards is an international competition for marketing and communications professionals — those involved in the concept, writing and design of marketing communication programs, and visual and audio materials.

Said Len Shrimpton, P.Eng., APEGGA Director, Internal Affairs: “We’re always striving to improve the value of the APEGGA Annual Report. And we knew from consulting with volunteers and other members that we’d been moving in the right direction.

“Still, it’s great to get some objective recognition from outside the organization.”
