√ Professional Development
Through the Practice Standards Committee, APEGGA provides members and the public with guidance on the roles and responsibilities of professional members through the development of guidelines and practice standards, and the publication of practice articles in The PEGG and online. On a day-to-day basis, Professional Practice Department staff also respond to individual inquires and requests for assistance.

√ Calgary Office
APEGGA’s Calgary meeting rooms see increasing traffic, every year. In 2004, they hosted 308 meetings, often with two or more happening simultaneously. These meetings have brought over 4,000 people through the doors and that’s not including regular office traffic. The rooms have been used for Permit to Practice Seminars, branch and executive meetings, technical exams and M.I.T. seminars. Technical societies also use the rooms regularly.

√ Member Services
Gas getting too costly?
Did you know that as an APEGGA member, you qualify for the Esso Business Card program? With this card, you’ll receive an exclusive 4.5 per cent discount on fuel, oil, top-up fluids and car washes at all Esso locations in Canada. There are no account setup charges or annual fees. You can get additional cards for your immediate family members to use. Plus, it’s absolutely free.
And that’s not all the only bonus there is to membership. Check out the following sampling.
RBC Royal Bank has custom-tailored a financial package that will provide all APEGGA members with premier banking services. These services will range from waived fees on day-to-day banking needs to a wide range of borrowing and investment discounts. The savings and discounts apply to new and existing RBC clients.
There’s an APEGGA-endorsed Registered Education Savings Plan, too. Heritage RESP is an excellent opportunity for APEGGA members to support the university and college needs of their children and grandchildren.
We have an expanded vehicle program. Use the buying power of over 42,000 APEGGA members to receive discounts on vehicle rentals, leases, parts, service and now new purchases.
The A&B Sound program is still going strong. With corporate changes at A&B Sound, there were questions about the APEGGA member discount being retracted. We have received word, however, that the purchase plan will be unaffected and APEGGA members will continue to receive discounts on electronics, software products, DVDs, videos, CDs and books.
