APEGGA 2004-2005 geoscience awards went to four deserving students, April 6 at the Geology and Geophysics Student Awards Reception at the University of Calgary.
Kelley Classen received the Roy O. Lindseth Scholarship in Geophysics, a $2,000 award to an outstanding third-year geophysics major. As of 2005, the award is called the APEGGA
Education Foundation Roy O. Lindseth Scholarship in Education.
Joanna Cooper, a double major in geophysics and geology, received the APEGGA Scholarship in Geology, a $2,000 award to an outstanding third-year student majoring in geology. This award has also been renamed, to the APEGGA Education Foundation Scholarship in Geology.
Lindy Kruger, who graduated in 2004 with a bachelor of science degree in geophysics,
and Meredith McArthur, a double-major in geophysics and applied environmental
geology and also a 2004 bachelor of science grad, both received APEGGA Gold Medals.
Gold medals go to students with the top grade point averages in third- and fourth-year
geology and geophysics.
