PEGG Women’s Club of Calgary is a social club for women associated with APEGGA. Formed in 1944 and now celebrating its 65th anniversary, the club has been known by many names: EIC, Engineers’ Wives, PEGG Wives, and now PEGG Women’s Club.
This club is open to not only wives, widows, divorcees and life partners of members of APEGGA, but also to female members of APEGGA. “While we welcome women of all ages, we know that this club will be of special interest to female engineers, geologists and geophysicists who are looking for activities as they contemplate retirement,” says a news release from the group.
The focus of the club is fun and friendship. Activities include bridge, golf, hiking, walking, dance classes (ballroom and belly dancing), investment club, scrap booking, beading, and Lunchbox Theatre. There are also events for couples, including mixed bridge, a Christmas dinner and dance, and wine tasting.
Other events are added as generated by the interests and needs of the membership. Please check out our website at www.peggwomen.org.
