Member Wins Outreach Award
The Division of Environmental Geosciences of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists presented the DEG Public Outreach Award for 2005 to Susan R. Eaton, P.Geol., P.Geoph., at the June 2005 AAPG Annual Meeting in Calgary.
The award is in recognition of “efforts and accomplishments in projecting,
promoting, and presenting environmental concerns and subjects to the public-at-large.”
Ms. Eaton writes for the AAPG Explorer magazine, and served as DEG vice co-chair
and technical program co-chair for the 2005 Convention.
The DEG presents “geological background on environmental issues, to increase understanding of how geological, geochemical, geophysical and hydrogeological principles and methodologies can be applied to environmental problems.”
