BRANCH ACTIVITY REPORT
   
12-07-00 The Peace River Branch held an Executive meeting on December 7, 2000.

It was initially intended to have a technical presentation on November 30,2000. The topic was to be the proposed Hydro Electric Dam at Dunvegan , on the Peace River.The speaker was to be Ross Keating, ,Senior Vice-president of Canadian Hydro Developers Inc. of Calgary. Due to work commitments he was unable to attend this meeting and so it was postponed to January 26,2001.

This Hydro Electric project would be of interest to other professional groups. It was decided to invite ASET members and Alberta Institute of Agronomists members. A total of 39 were in attendance representing the three associations as well as students from Grande Prairie College.It was very successful with a great deal of interest from the attendees.

ASET had a presentation on investments at their January 31 meeting and APEGGA members were invited. A number APEGGA members did attend this meeting.

The Alberta Institute of Agrologists is having a meeting on February 26 with a presentation on Engineering in Agrology and ASET and APEGGA members have been invited.

It is our intention to continue liaison with these two associations when relevant.

Planning is underway for the Science Olympics and National Engineering Week with the expectation of an enhanced program over previous years.

The President's visit to Peace River and Grande Prairie on March 13 and the annual lobster dinner are also in the planning stages.

An Executive meeting will be held on February15,2001.

The Peace Regional Science Fair will be held on March 30,2001 and a number of APEGGA members will be acting as judges.
