Over its short life span the foundation has made steady progress. Starting from ground zero, it has laid out the framework for the foundation's success and achieved some milestones in that direction. To cite a few, three ad-hoc committees were formed last year to develop proposals for fundraising, defining roles and responsibilities of the foundation, and educational scholarships. It is expected that reports from these ad-hoc committees will be issued this summer based on which our plan of activities will be developed
.

On the financial side, the foundation received $15,882 in donations in 1999 from APEGGA members. This year, in addition to the membership donations, APEGGA will transfer about $85,000 to the foundation which includes funds raised at the APEGGA Summit Awards® gala. APEGGA also donated $50,000 to the foundation, as a millennium project to be dedicated to a scholarship for children of APEGGA members and which can be put towards any post secondary program.

APEGGA is holding a fundraiser on behalf of the foundation on June 12, 2000 in Calgary. The Honorable Brian Tobin, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be the keynote speaker at this event. We hope that you will support this event by attending.
