History (more info)
Raising Funds (less info)
Funds are raised through several means.
APEGGA members are encouraged to donate through the APEGGA annual dues invoice. These members, or a select group of them, are also subject to targeted mail or e-mail promotions.
Corporations are encouraged to contribute. APEGGA has been the largest contributor to date but APEGGA permit-holders will become the focus of an enhanced fundraising program that will enhance the Universities’ fundraising efforts.
The Foundation has been the benefactor of fundraising events. APEGGA’s Summit Awards and golf tournaments are notable examples.
Finally, the Foundation is always on the lookout for opportunities to leverage its funds with the funds of others. On two occasions, the Foundation (and previously APEGGA) has taken advantage of government matching to enhance its programs. The $1M endowment in 2008 was the result of the Alberta Government’s Access to the Future Fund which will match APEGGA’s contribution dollar for dollar.
