Consistent with APEGGA's vision to be the "focal organization" and "recognized leader of the engineering, geology and geophysical professions," the Association has created a new position within the Association's Communications and Public Affairs Department to further develop and expand communications initiatives and member contact.

The new Assistant Director will report to and take guidance from the Director of Communications and Public Affairs and will assist in the interface with a wide range of member groups and individuals. Your mandate will be to actively engage members individually or in groups at their place of employment in order to inform members on issues being addressed by APEGGA and the profession and to receive member feedback. You will build upon the value the Association brings to each member, permit holder, and employer; and contribute to member-business-government liaison. Another important aspect of the position will include assisting with initiatives related to the Annual General Conference sponsorship and encourage member support for The APEGGA Education Foundation. You will also provide liaison to the Honours and Awards Committee.

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic APEGGA member (or person eligible for membership) who possesses the commitment and ability to develop credibility with members and senior corporate and government officials. You have strong interpersonal and communications skills coupled with a background that should include the development of promotional communications and strategies initiatives. Experience in communications/business development/marketing will be an additional asset.

This is a unique career opportunity within the professional association management environment to gain a broad range of insight and knowledge into a variety of industry sectors and occupational exposures and to play a role in the advancement of the profession. As the Association moves forward into the future, additional opportunities may well be presented for you to contribute to APEGGA's longer term strategic mission and vision.
