The late Dr. Don Stanley, P.Eng., founder of what is now Stantec, was a member of the team in 1949 when the Edmonton Mercurys came second at the World Cup and again in 1950 when they won the World Cup. He was not on the team when they won the gold medal at the 1952 Olympics in Oslo, Norway but the guest speaker Mr. Bill Dawe was and his inspirational and interesting speech will chronicle "What it took to be successful".
