APEGA
has established a dues deferment program to help members with their dues under certain circumstances. Please see below for a description of each program. Also, all of this information is on the reverse side of your invoice. Please note: Exam Candidates, Students and Foreign Licensees are not eligible for these programs.
Unemployment/Parental-Maternity Leave
Members who are unemployed or on parental/maternity leave may receive dues deferment. 25% of the dues payable will be subject to immediate payment, with the balance deferred to the next invoice period or to re-employment. The outstanding balance will be waived if, at the next invoice period, the Member is still unemployed. This policy is intended for those members who are on parental/maternity leave or who, through no fault of their own, have had their employment terminated, but who are actively seeking new employment and who need financial help.
Student
Members who are enrolled in full time post graduate programs in engineering, geology, geophysics, science, business, or an undergraduate program in education, may receive dues deferment. 25% of the dues payable will be subject to immediate payment, with the balance deferred to the next invoice period. The outstanding balance will be waived if, at the next invoice period, the Member is still enrolled. However 25% of the current dues must be paid. The member must not be employed or practicing their profession.
Health/Disability
Members who due to ill health or a disability, are not earning an income from employment, may have their dues reduced to 25% for a specified or indefinite period. Please enclose a note from your doctor confirming the seriousness of the disability and indicating the anticipated length of disability.
