HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP award
MR. john g.f. mcleod, p.eng.
The Council may confer Honourary Life Membership in APEGGA upon any Professional Member who has rendered eminent service to the Association.
Mr. John McLeod, P.Eng., has more than 37 years in the domestic and international upstream oil and gas industry, both as an engineer and as management.
Born and raised in southern New Brunswick, Mr. McLeod attended College Militaire Royal in St. Jean, Quebec, and graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering in 1970. After graduation, he spent 15 years with Amoco Canada in Alberta and the U.S., including four years as Chief Engineer. Subsequently he has been involved as an officer and director of small Canadian companies with both domestic and international operations.
In addition to projects in China, Georgia (in the former Soviet Union), India, New Guinea and Oman, Mr. McLeod was heavily involved in the Sudan Petroleum Project from 1991-1997. He was recently President and CEO of both Rally Energy Corporation, with projects in Egypt, Pakistan and Prince Edward Island, and ONCO Petroleum Inc., with projects in Michigan and southern Ontario. He is currently President and CEO of California Oil & Gas Corporation, with projects in California and Louisiana, and a Director of Heritage Oil Corporation (Congo, Oman, Russia and Uganda) and Keeper Resources (Vietnam). Over the past 25 years, Mr. McLeod has also served on various APEGGA committees and as a two-time Member of Council.
Mr. McLeod and his wife, Carol, live in Okotoks and have four sons. He enjoys sailing and has volunteered as a hockey coach and as Midget Director for the Okotoks Minor Hockey Association.
