Topic: Alberta’s Oilsands – Responsible Development

Alberta’s vast oil sands resource is a significant engine of growth for Canada, and an important source of energy supply to the world. Development of the oil sands presents some unique environmental challenges.

The presentation will review these unique challenges, and progress made by Imperial and industry in mitigating these impacts through technology advancement. Additional discussion will also focus on emerging technologies, and how these technologies are being applied to Imperial's Kearl mining project to improve environmental performance.
