National Survey Seeks Information On Engineering Jobs

What skills are in short supply? Where are the engineering and technology jobs? What kinds of professional development provide the most career benefit? What challenges do international engineering and technology graduates confront?

You can help answer these questions by participating in the Engineers Canada 2008 National Survey. Make your voice heard.

This year’s National Survey will collect information on career patterns, skill needs and how engineering jobs are changing. There is also a special section in the survey for internationally educated engineers.

The 2008 National Survey was developed jointly by Engineers Canada and the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists. It follows up on a 2002 survey, which more than 20,000 engineers and other engineering technology workers completed.

Results from the 2008 National Survey will be published later this year. They’ll be available on the national Engineering and Technology Labour Market Study website, where you can also find reports as they are published. See More Info box.

The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. Your confidentiality is absolutely
assured — individual respondents cannot be identified through the survey.
