The APEGGA Education Foundation offers one scholarship to assist early-career engineers (E.I.T. or P.Eng. with at least 24 months of industrial work experience) who are returning for a post-graduate degree in Materials Engineering. The scholarship, valued at $2,000.00, is awarded yearly by competition to a graduate student (e.g. M.Eng., M.Sc., or Ph.D. training; postdoctoral fellows are not eligible) attending an institution of their choice in Alberta. The student must be registered and in good standing with APEGGA and must have industrial experience (e.g. work experience in a non-academic organization). No restriction is placed on holding other scholarships or grants. As well, after permission has been granted, the winner's name and contact information will be forwarded to The Acuren Group each year with the intent to consider possible employment opportunities with them.
The scholarship is known as the APEGGA - Acuren Group Inc. Materials Engineering Graduate Scholarship in tribute to a presidential honorarium that was donated to the Foundation in 2005 by Acuren Group Inc.
The scholarship will be paid directly to the university by APEGGA upon confirmation of registration.
To Apply
1. Arrange for two letters of reference as per this form
2. Arrange for comments from your thesis advisor as per this form
3. Submit by July 15th the completed signed form to APEGGA - attention Acuren
Group Inc. Materials Engineering Graduate Scholarship. Selection will be completed
by August 31.
