One Day, Three Challenges

APEGGA Permit Holders Show Community Spirit At Boys and Girls Clubs

More than 60 Edmonton engineers donated their time, energy, practical wisdom and funds to complete makeovers of three Boys and Girls Clubs in the Alberta Capital Region, Sept. 19

For the second annual Engineering Challenge Day of Caring, projects included landscaping at the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Saskatchewan, fence building at the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc and exterior renovations at the Boys and Girls Tweddle Place Club in Edmonton

The Engineering Challenge is an engineering sector collaboration to strengthen communities across the region in partnership with United Way. Engineers challenge each other in their United Way participation, and recognize individual and collective efforts.

Engineering firms involved were Associated Engineering, Bantrel, WorleyParsons, CoSyn Technology, EBA Engineering, ISL Engineering & Landservices, Magna IV Engineering, SNC-Lavalin and Stantec.

“At United Way, we are committed to bringing together our community in support of healthy children and youth, strong families and self-reliant individuals,” says a news release from the umbrella charity. “Our strength continues to be found in our name — it’s about us working together as a community, for the community.”
