Municipal Affairs Seeks Input On Codes

The government is consulting the public on two important matters of interest to APEGGA members — the Safety Codes Act review and new energy efficiency requirements under the Alberta Building Code.

The ideas and proposals that arise from the review of the Safety Codes Act will help Municipal Affairs ensure that Albertans have safe communities, homes, workplaces and recreational areas.

Meanwhile, the Government of Alberta would like to introduce new energy efficiency requirements for homes and other buildings in Alberta. Municipal Affairs has prepared a series of questions on the subject, and your feedback will be instrumental in helping them develop the right strategy to make homes greener.

Information on both consultations can be found on the Municipal Affairs website, www.municipalaffairs.alberta.ca.
