APEGGA will host its Annual General Conference from Wednesday, April 21 to Friday, April 23 in Calgary. In keeping with this year's theme, organizers have thought ahead. The Annual General Meeting and Luncheon is the pivotal event of the week, providing an opportunity to have your say in APEGGA business and to discuss issues of importance to the professions. AGM Luncheon Speaker Ruben Nelson, executive director of Capitalizing on Change Project and president of Square One Management Ltd., will discuss how to prepare Alberta for a changing future.

Choose from a solid slate of professional development workshops and sessions, including topics on communications, professional issues, management skills, and oil and gas. The speakers will inspire you to new levels of thinking. Hone your writing skills in an effective writing session, learn about the impact of electrical power deregulation, or get advice from a financial planning expert.

Then give your mind a welcome break with several social events. It's Mission Possible at the Summit Awards®. The annual gala recognizes the outstanding technical, professional and community service achievements of Alberta engineers and geoscientists. Operatives in fine cuisine, music and entertainment have signed on to provide mission support. Rendezvous with special agents in the professions, business, government and education at this top-secret event.

Finally, the Partners Program guarantees everyone will have a memorable experience at the Annual General Conference. Enjoy an evening social at Canada Olympic Park, a tour of the Western Heritage Centre, and a free day to visit the sights and sounds of Calgary.

The conference provides an excellent opportunity to grow in your profession, network and learn more about your Association. Watch the mail for a conference insert coming with Council election ballets.
