The Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting are all about new beginnings - and fond farewells. In the top row and second row left, three councillors receive their parting plaques from President Mike Smyth, P.Eng., after completing their terms. From left, they are Ron Triffo, P.Eng., Nima Dorjee, P.Eng., and Shawn Morrison, P.Eng. Also leaving Council but not on hand for the photos are Dr. Peter Putnam, P.Geol., and public member Judy Williams. In the second row, right, Dale Miller, P.Eng., receives his handshake from the new president. Mr. Miller leaves the Executive Committee, now that his term as immediate past president is over. He does, however, remain in contact with Council as a director for the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers. In the third row, left, Bob Comer, P.Geoph., right, accepts his gift from Mr. Tenove. Mr. Comer's term as Canadian Council of Professional Geoscientists director has now ended. Brenda Wright, P.Geol., a former APEGGA councillor, takes over. In the bottom photo, Dr. Fred Otto, P.Eng., centre, accepts a gift from Mr. Tenove and Mr. Smyth. Dr. Otto's term as CCPE director has ended. In the third row, right, Mr. Smyth, right, presents the past president's plaque to Mr. Tenove. The presentations were a feature of the 83rd Annual General Meeting, held April 26 at the Palliser Hotel in Calgary.
