Gordon
Howell graduated with a B.Sc. in electrical engineering in 1975 from the University
of Alberta. His focus in the last 10 years has been on developing solar
power and solar heating projects in the province. He is a member of national
and international committees that write standards for solar power systems and
so has exposure to the world-class experience of others.
Gordon was on the Drake Landing Solar Community's project development team and
developed the performance monitoring system. He himself lives in an energy efficient
house that uses 60% less natural gas than an average house, and has had a solar
power system on his roof for the last 11 years that provides him with 100% of
his annual electricity consumption.
