Peter
Zimmerman is the Ecosystems Market Segment Leader in CH2M HILL's Calgary office,
with 30 years of broad experience in the oil and gas industry. This includes
work in field operations (drilling, construction, logistics, and reclamation)
and in managing environmental liability and assessment programs (decommissioning,
remediation, site assessment and permitting) throughout the western Canadian
sedimentary basin and the North. He also has considerable experience developing
and implementing Environmental Management Plans and Systems, including compliance
and system audits. He has managed a diverse range of projects including
road and bridge construction, facility decommissioning, remediation and reclamation
operations, environmental impact assessment, and emergency spill response. His
work has included stakeholder relations with landowner groups, environmental
interest groups, and First Nations.
Peter is an active member of the conservation community and his involvement in several environmental non-governmental conservation organizations (ENGO) gives him a unique understanding of these stakeholders perspectives. This has allowed him to act as a "bridge" between industry and stakeholder groups.
