Look at That!

The youngster at right could be a future geologist. He came with a bag filled with rocks, all of which he’d collected himself, and the geologists were thrilled.

The APEGGA Rock & Fossil Clinics in Canmore and Edmonton were a huge success, Oct. 20. Visitors — children, teens, parents and grandparents — were lined up waiting for the doors to open. They were smiling, excited, noisy and patiently awaiting the arrival of APEGGA geologists.

Samples were analyzed, hands-on workshops were held, and guest speakers made presentations on the earth sciences. Geologists talked about their work and showed some of their amazing samples from Mother Earth.

The clinics were great events to celebrate Science and Technology Week, and your Association couldn’t have pulled it off without an outcropping of great APEGGA volunteers.
