The Sponsorship Opportunity

This is an invitation for organizations to enter into a special partnership with APEGGA. Sponsorship of the Annual General Conference gives your organization the opportunity to reinforce its image within the geoscience and engineering communities and at the same time, assist APEGGA in staging a successful conference.

APEGGA has developed a variety of sponsorship levels for the Annual General Conference giving your organization an opportunity to select an arrangement that reflects your stature in the engineering and geoscience community and your commitment to the professionals you employ. All sponsorships now includethe Summit Awards® .

A portion of your sponsorship will be forwarded to The APEGGA Education Foundation and a tax receipt will be issued, giving your firm additional profile.

The Audience

The Audience 2002 Annual General Conference - An Overview “Infinite Possibilities - Unlimited Potential”.

The audience for the Annual General Conference includes:

professional engineers, geologists and geophysicists
government representatives
employers of engineers, geologists and geophysicists
service providers
business community representatives

Over 250 participants per day are expected to take part in the Professional Development seminars, while an estimated 800 members and guests are expected to attend the APEGGA Summit Awards® Gala. The 2002 APEGGA Annual General Conference will be held April 25-27 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton. The Conference, centered on the theme includes APEGGASummit Awards Gala, the Annual General Meeting and Luncheon, twodays of Professional Development seminars, as well as entertaining evening socials and a guest program.

Summit Awards® Gala

The APEGGA Summit Awards® Gala is APEGGA's premier recognition event Held annually, the awards honour professional, technical andcommunity service achievements. There are 11 APEGGA Summit Awards® . A program and a formal dinner are part of the gala event. The gala provides a forum to recognize excellence in the practices of engineering, geology and geophysics, and the valuable contributions APEGGA members make to the community.

Annual General Meeting, Breakfast and Luncheon

The APEGGA Annual General Meeting, complimentary pre-meeting breakfast and Luncheon is open to all members of the Association. The meeting provides members with the opportunity to become involved in the business of their Association, discuss issues of importance to the engineering, geology and geophysics professions, vote on matters brought before the meeting and present motions for Council to consider.

Professional Development

Keeping up with technology and innovation is a challenge for every professional. The Professional Development seminars are designed to provide an opportunity for members to hear of current trends which are important for professional activities and to assist members in meeting their PD equirements.

The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) serves society and protects the public by regulating, enhancing and providing leadership in the practice of engineering, geology and geophysics in the province of Alberta. APEGGA's authority for this is by statute of the province of Alberta, The Engineering, Geological and Geophysical Professions (EGGP) Act. Under the EGGP Act, licensure with APEGGA is required to practice engineering, geology or geophysics in the province of Alberta.

The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta has served Albertans since 1920. With over 35,000 members, APEGGA is the largest professional association in Alberta.
