Ashok Sehgal Elected President
Of APEGGA Education Foundation

Ashok Sehgal, P.Eng., was elected president of The APEGGA Education Foundation at its Annual General Meeting in Calgary on March 13. He replaces Harry Moore, P.Eng., who has served as the foundation's president since it was formed in 1997 as a registered charitable organization.

The complete Board of Directors consists of: A.K. (Ashok) Sehgal, P.Eng. (president); D.G.H. (Dennis) Brooks, P.Eng., P.Geoph. (vice-president); J.D. (James) Hole, P.Eng.; C.L. (Chrys.) Dmytruk, P.Eng.; J.A. (Tony) Howard, P.Eng.; K.E. (Kathleen) Sendall, P.Eng.; S.C. (Chan) Wirasinghe, P.Eng., PhD; and J.R. (John) Wood, P.Eng.

Major objectives of the foundation are:

  • to encourage and assist education institutions in defining the education needs of the professions of engineering, geology and geophysics and in developing and delivering these programs.
  • to encourage and assist educational institutions, students, and teachers by providing financial assistance and/or awards.
  • to encourage and assist interaction between industry and educational institutions at both a corporate and individual level.
  • to serve as the professions' vehicle for meeting these objectives by assembling and managing funds, building endowments, encouraging voluntary donations and distributing funds.
