Cabinet Minister Mark Norris Speaks at APEGGA AGM

Take a dream and add some persistence, then truly explore the possibilities of your potential. This year's speaker for the APEGGA Annual General Meeting luncheon, Mark Norris, Alberta minister of economic development and MLA for Edmonton McClung, has truly explored and demonstrated the principal of infinite possibilities and unlimited potential.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Mr. Norris graduated from Archbishop MacDonald High School and completed a bachelor's degree in arts, political science, at the St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S.

Since 1990, Mr. Norris has owned a successful Edmonton small business in advertising and sign manufacturing. Seeing possibilities outside of work, Mr. Norris extends his dedication into the community. Mr. Norris is the current Chair of ABC Headstart, an early intervention lifeskills and literacy program for pre-kindergarten students and their families. He is a board member of the Downtown Rotary Club, where he also serves as past president.
Pushing his potential even further, Mr. Norris's community involvement includes serving as the past chair of the Christmas Bureau, past board member of Grant MacEwan College and past board member of the Edmonton Boy Scouts. He also assists in fundraising for several charities.

Mr. Norris was elected as the MLA for Edmonton-McClung last year. He was subsequently appointed to cabinet, where he currently serves as the economic development minister.

Mr. Norris is married toVeronica and has two young children, Claudia and Jack.

The APEGGA Annual General Conference takes place April 25-27 in Edmonton at the Shaw Conference Centre. The Annual General Meeting is on the Saturday, April 27, followed by the AGM luncheon with Mr. Norris speaking.
