Association Appoints
Public Relations Manager

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Sherrell Steele as APEGGA's public relations manager. Sherrell brings a varied and extensive background to APEGGA, becoming an integral part of the Association's growing commitment to communications. A manager in the Communications and Public Affairs Department, Sherrell is responsible for a wide array of public relations initiatives -- the public relations program, media relations, our advertising campaign and our communications plan.

Sherrell has 22 years of experience in the communications industry. Most recently, she was manager of services and enterprises for the Institute for Professional Development, at the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension, as well as an instructor and curriculum developer for Grant MacEwan College's Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Digital Arts and Media. Those positions were preceded by an 18-year career in community television. Sherrell advanced through five positions with ACCESS The Education Station in Edmonton, from program developer to manager of production and copyright.

Sherrell has a bachelor of education degree, with distinction, from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, and is currently working on her master of arts degree in communications and technology at the University of Alberta. She and husband Sam have two grown children and three grandchildren.

C.L. Dmytruk, P.Eng.
