The Alberta Emerald Foundation seeks nominations for the Emerald Awards for Environmental Excellence, which will be presented on June 6. The awards, which always generate nominations from the APEGGA ranks, recognize excellence in preserving, protecting, enhancing and sustaining the environment.
Judges look at the positive, tangible and long-term impact of projects as well as, where appropriate, effort that reflect collaborative approaches.
Deadline for nominations is Feb. 28. Organizations and individuals can nominate themselves or someone they know.
All nominations are posted on the Emerald Foundation website, complete with contact information, in an effort to increase recognition and to share of great environmental stories with a broader audience.
Categories cover large and small business, government institution, climate change, research and innovation, education and more. Past nominations include AMEC Earth & Environmental Ltd. for the Deerfoot Trail Extension South Design Team. the Centre for Environmental Engineering Research and Education; and the City of Calgary’s corporate engineering sustainable building Policy.
