Faked Resumé Dupes
Permit Holder

The sentencing of an Edmonton man for fraudulently portraying himself as a Florida-licensed engineer should serve as a cautionary tale for all APEGGA permit holders.  “Always check resumés, and always check them thoroughly,” said Dave Todd, P.Eng., APEGGA Director, Compliance. “Also, insist that those who say they are engineers or geoscientists have APEGGA licensure or at the very least are seeking it.”

Two Days of Project Management

Calgary: August 21 and 22
Edmonton August 23 and 24

Both Calgary and Edmonton will play host to a two-day seminar about project management. The speaker for these information-packed seminars will feature Dr. George Jergeas, P.Eng.

This course will introduce an effective project management framework which can be usefully applied to technical and non-technical projects. When finished, participants will be able to perform tasks such as:

  • Formulate and communicate project plans effectively
  • Organize and lead a project team
  • Apply techniques and project control
  • Apply effective project monitoring and evaluating techniques
  • Build and sustain project teams

Both seminars will be held at the respective APEGGA conference centres.
